Breathwork: The Power of Every Breath
Breathing is something we do automatically thousands of times a day - it might seem simple, even mundane. Yet, the way we inhale and exhale can dramatically affect our health, performance, and overall wellbeing.
Despite its central role in life, the full potential of conscious, intentional breathing remains largely overlooked in modern medicine and daily practice.
Breathwork encompasses a variety of techniques designed to improve how we breathe, optimise oxygen delivery, and enhance the mind-body connection. From slow, deep diaphragmatic breathing to controlled breath-holds and nasal-focused techniques, these practices can profoundly influence our physical, mental, and emotional health.
Why Breathwork Matters
Most people breathe inefficiently: too shallowly, too quickly, or through the mouth, without realising it. This can lead to chronic tension, fatigue, and even long-term health issues. Breathwork teaches us to reclaim control over this essential function, unlocking benefits that extend far beyond simple relaxation.
James Nestor’s investigative work shows that ancient practices and modern science agree: the way we breathe shapes the structure of our bodies, the function of our organs, and even our lifespan. Combined with techniques from The Oxygen Advantage, which emphasise optimal oxygenation and CO₂ tolerance, we can transform breath from a background process into a powerful tool for vitality.
Despite its profound impact, breathwork remains surprisingly underutilised in mainstream health care. Learning to breathe correctly is one of the simplest, most accessible interventions we can take for our health - yet one of the most overlooked.
In this practice, every inhale and exhale becomes a step toward improved health, balance, and self-awareness.
What happens in a 1:1 breathwork session?
In your introductory session we will complete a breath assessment and identify your unique needs and challenges, before introducing you to some simple techniques which offer profound benefits. You will then be guided through personalised breath work sessions tailored to your specific situation.
All sessions are offered online. If you would prefer a face-to-face appointment please let us know and we can discuss your requirements.

Holistic treatments, including breathwork, are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Penny would like to make it clear that when providing this services she is not working in the capacity of a medical practitioner or psychiatrist. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health care provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or treatment and before undertaking a new health care regimen.
